Base on my research about optimum, optimal and optimum have the same meaning, that it is refers to the best solution.
Optimum express the amount or extent of something most suitable to completion while optimal is most favorable.
optimum refers to a single value or condition while optimal refers to the best solution
Optimal also means best or most favorable While optimum can be used as a both adjective and noun whereas optimal can be only used as an adjective.
